Thanks to one of my favorite things to pose with finally came true. (: Thank you very much, sweetheart. This shooting was one of the best we ever did. ;D
I, for once, am informed why wearing a war bonnet if not deserved is offensive. Which wasn't my intention at all yadda yadda yadda... I am going to skip poor excuses since I have none, I decided not to post any more photos but only keep this one online since we went through a lot to get that headdress and make this shooting possible. Plus, I really love how it came out.
I am really tired of people bitching over cultural appropriation, especially when they even don.t know what they are talking about. It took me 6 month to find the right headset, to find this location and to wait a little longer for the river to overflow so we would have this cool mirror effect. If YOU don.t like it i couldn.t care less and i am realy not interested in your opinion at all. Here are some more from this photoshooting ...
I am native American and can't believe you are getting crap for this pic. it is not offensive at all. It is a picture of a beautiful woman. I could care less what others say. people like to bitch for others to hear their whining. I think it makes them fell self important. My culture is something that has been attacked by many but not by you. I hope you continue in what you do knowing it is appreciated.
Thank you for the I have watched you for only a little time and you are very beautiful, but what I like most is the expression you put into your work and truly this pic is one of my favorites. To me their is more to your picture then a beautiful woman. And though I don't know how to say it, I really feel your pictures.
We landed on your shores. We invaded your lands. We kicked you out of your homes. We corralled you into concentration camps. We committed genocide against you. We condemned you to centuries of poverty, squalor and second-class citizenship. And now, just to add a tiny bit more insult to injury, we're going take a sacred, precious piece of your cultural identity, and we're going to use it as a fucking prop in our vapid, superficial beauty industry. An industry dedicated to worshipping the narrow conception of beauty of the very people that ground you into the dirt. Nice tan, Ankooru.
Imi, as someone who comes from native american ancestry, suck it the fuck up. It's a picture. Don't like it, don't look at it. People are just looking for excuses to be pissed off at someone these days.
welcome to the future, racism is a word of the past now dumbass!
and if you're so sensitive about who's what! and gonna make a 'conspiracy' out of everything, then here's a hint, be an example yourself and STOP USING THE EVIL WHITE MAN'S COMPUTERS! or did you turn your back on that 'offensive trade' just because you can download white man's porn with it
I am full time Serbian, we didn't go there. I am not being racist nor calling out anyone by wearing this fake headdress on my head. I love it, I love Native culture and I know that some might be offended by this. I sincerely apologize but if anyone is that much offended go ahead and report. See what happens.
Ignore him. He's a troll who hasn't contributed anything to this site in the year he's been a member. A lot of what is considered "American Indian" culture was taught to them by Europeans, anyway. Scalping, for example, originated with the French. Still, beautiful photos, both this one and the back shot.
"Haug, veliki poglavico. Primi ove velicanstvene obojene djindjuve i vaternu vodu u zamenu za tvoju pustu zemlju, ono glupo svetlucavao zuto kamenje i ruznu kcerku. Vjeruj mi, sklapas najposteniji posao sa najpostenijim belim covekom."
For your own benefit, some people might start flaming you for using a headdress like thing. Every other picture I've seen featuring a headdress starts some sort of flame war and the artistry gets ignored. I truly hope that doesn't happen here because this is a stunning photo.
I respect your opinion, thank you for letting me know that it's bothering you. But if you feel like this photo doesn't belong here, feel free to report and let dA decide for us whether it's offensive or not. I am not being racist or vulgar, there is no 'Hate' here. Unlike those who talk 'racist' instead of teaching their youngsters of history and culture.
Precisely, and I don't think that has a place on an art website. It should be kept to private messages and not in the comments section unless permitted by the artist. Feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss it further.
